The CHARM (Compact Hardware – ARM) is a new generation multi-function video processor & tracker that greatly extend performance in a size, weight, & power optimized package. Over 3 decades of Vision4ce's video tracking experience went into CHARM's design, making it the competitive choice for end users & system integrators.

The CHARM product uses the DART (Detection & Acquisition, with Robust Tracking) detection and target tracking software hosted on an embedded multicore ARM processor board for video tracking and image processing applications. The CHARM board is a standalone video tracker board for embedded applications which allows direct connection to standard video and data interfaces. It is designed to ensure reliable operation in harsh environments where the unit is subjected to shock and vibration as well as extended operating temperature ranges. As with all the Vision4ce products (e.g., PCs, DVRs and Video Management Systems), the CHARM is an affordable, rugged, real-time deployable solution offering a price to performance ratio unmatched by conventional embedded products.

In addition, our own Gordon Cain will deliver a paper on "Improved Target Recognition Using Dedicated Video Architecture – Meet CHARM", co-author by John Thornton. In this paper, Vision4ce will discuss our multi-core coherent software structured approach, which includes several automatic configuration functions to reduce integration time and complexity with a consequential cost saving. We also discuss how the CHARM can be integrated effectively into a dynamic closed-loop control application.
