NVIDIA has released the industry's first publicly available OpenCL GPU drivers for Windows and Linux, as well as an OpenCL Visual Profiler and SDK code samples.

OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is a new heterogeneous computing environment that enables developers to write platform independent massively parallel algorithms. It will allow developers to harness the massive parallel computing power of many-core processors such as GPUs and future devices such as Intel Larrabee without having to write new algorithms for each platform.

Vision4ce is currently leveraging GPU technology by writing massively parallel image processing algorithms under CUDA, but in the future these algorithms will be migrated to OpenCL and will then be portable to a multitude of parallel computing devices.
